Vivienne Mallabar, a Deputy Principal at Ormiston Junior College, explains how the school is developing a more cohesive connection between the different levels of assessment in a school. Connections are being made between what assessment looks like for a student, classroom teacher, middle leads with oversight of cohorts and senior leaders.
The workshop looks at AfL practices and what this looks like to build staff capacity, student agency, and the
curriculum as interconnected with learning, teaching and assessment in particular. Vivienne shares learning journeys, digital badging systems and processes.
Vivienne has a passion for students being engaged and active in their own learning, as well as building teacher
capacity to enable this. She is president of the Primary Maths Association, and sits on the executive
committee for NZAI.
